4 Simple Steps To Brush Plate Your Small Parts
1. Plug In The Adapter | |
2. Clip the Black Lead To The Part
3. Soak The Wand With Bandage In the Solution
4. Brush The Wand Over The Cleaned Part |
Plug N' Plate® is a new concept in plating small parts. Our unique mains power pack supplies just the right amount of power allowing you to brush, and in some situations, dip plate your smaller components.
The Plug N' Plate® system will also allow you to patch repair areas where the original plating has worn away.
Plug N' Plate® is ideal for vintage vehicle restorers, antique collectors and dealers, and small workshops doing prototype work.
What could be simpler? The Plug N' Plate® wand is attached to the red plug on the Power Pack, and the alligator clip is attached to the work-piece. The end of the wand is covered in an absorbent bandage, which is soaked in the plating solution for a few seconds.
By simply stroking the part with swift brush strokes, the circuit is closed and the plating metal bearing solution goes to work, depositing its beautiful layer onto the object.
Plug N' Plate® is perfect for gold plating car emblems. Simply strip the chrome off with Chrome Stripper, then apply the gold. Full instructions are included.
Plug N' Plate® may be applied onto most metals. To see which kit plates onto which metal, read our instruction booklet. To plate onto Stainless Steel, use the Plug N' Plate® Copper system. When gold plating onto stainless, apply our Stainless Steel Activator For Gold with a stainless wand and 4.5V power pack, then you may gold plate directly onto the stainless part.
Aluminum can be plated with the Acid Copper Plug N Plate system, after prepping your part with Zincate.
Plastic parts can also be plated with our Acid Copper Plug N Plate system after painting with conductive paint and swabbed with Tinning Solution.

Recommended Skill Level
Beginner level products can and should be used by anybody, including those who consider themselves not crafty, handy or hands on. Most beginner level products can be used out of the box and can expect results within minutes. It is always important to read the product instructions and description on the web site before use, for example, nearly all of our plating kits require a polished and clean surface before plating.

Even I could do it!
I have been doing stained glass for some time, but have never electroplated anything in my life. I did a 24" circular piece which turned out nicely, but the various patinas to color the solder are a bit of a crapshoot. Electroplating was a novel idea, and I didn't know why that wouldn't work. Following directions (including pickle #4) I copper plated the piece, and it was beautiful - much better than chemical patina - and polished even better. I went on and plated it in brass, and now it is not only beautiful but unique. I can't say if it is common or not, but as a complete rube I was able to follow the directions and have a significant success in my first effort. The kit (and cleaning supplies, SoftScrub and pickle #4) were all I needed. Now I'm a convert, and back online looking at other brush kits, and wondering about black nickel, since black patina that actually makes black is almost unknown. High recommendations!

filling rust pits on 145 year old revolvers
I am a gun dealer who as a hobby restores revolvers from the civil war up to1920's. After parts are stripped and cleaned copper is added on rust pits until they are filled. occasional sanding with 400 grit paper and replating until finally all pits are level with surface. then parts are chrome or nickel plated and look as new or better. Scratches also can be filled.. Note; parts cannot be blued due to plating. Nickel looks wonderful and polishes to amazing results/

I built up copper
Hi. I got my copper plating kit to really work great by adding wire from a cheap inside extension cord $2. - $3 at Walmart. I took about a foot of wire, cut off the plastic, untwisted it, so the fine wire strands were more separated, and wrapped it around the end area, the working area of the + copper anode. Then I wrapped the gauze around that. My theory is that it gave a lot more surface area to the actual copper that I was using in the platting. This way, there is no end to the copper supply that I am using, and it plated good and fast, compared to the original set up. The original set up lost its good copper plating ability real fast, but this is a never ending supply. I was adding copper to trumpet and cornet valves, to replace metal lost over the 100 years of this 1907 cornet, and same year trumpet that I rebuilt the valves on. I also use it to build up slides that are a little too loose. I first used this perhaps 4-5 years ago, and then this month of September, 2013. I enjoyed bringing back to new playing ability, these old instruments. A valve re-plating job (done probably properly), is about $400.00 on trumpets. When I did this myself, I did not have any one enlarging the valve casings. I merely enlarged the valves. This was my choice. Thanks, Caswell, for a job well done. I also order my Peek metal polish from you, to polish the valves and silver and brass etc. Great product also, probably the best for my use. Thanks again. Don Sanders

a great pre-plate
Just as advertised, a easy addition to your plating repetoire. Plus it can be used to stretch your Gold solution! Copper first, then gold on top.

excellent product for the small scale hobbyist
Saved tons of money by carefully following directions and doing it myself at home rather than sending it out this kit is super easy and works great

Excellent Copper Solution!
Just got a combo kit (nickel and copper) while it's on sale and tried out the copper last night. It easily produces an even layer of copper over whatever you're plating. I experimented with a lightly cleaned musical instrument part and it produced a lovely pink copper color within seconds! Would recommend to anyone looking for copper plating solution, affordability, prompt service, and a reliable product! Excellent, 5-stars!
