IRIDESCENT YELLOW CHROMATE
After preparing the part to accept the process, the part is simply dipped into a solution for a few minutes. The zinc & the chromate react to form the new colors. To improve those older zinc (pot metal) castings, plate with a fresh zinc plate before chromating.
The Yellow Chromate is a yellow/bronze iridescent finish on plated cadmium and zinc. Liquid concentrate is used at 0.5% to 3% by volume in water at 65° to 90°F. The finish has outstanding resistance to salt spray, greatly surpasses the normal 96 hour salt spray resistance specified for yellow chromates on zinc. It will withstand up to 200 hours salt spray. The deposit is a pleasing finish in itself. It is an excellent base for paint. The finish may be dyed to various colors.

The ideal finish
the yellow chromate is one of my favorite way to finish off the plating process. the color is bright and looks absolutely amazing. this is a must if you plating or restoring the old factory look of parts and bolts.

Yellow chromate
I’m no metal finisher, but I needed some car parts plated. This yellow really looks nice and this was on my first try. Still learning and I can only expect my results to get better.

Good product, temperamental process
Like all Caswell chemicals, this is a high quality product. I wouldn't recommend the yellow chromate for beginners though. If you're new to plating like I am, start with the blue. It's a bit more forgiving. It seems there's a bit of a learning curve to getting a good finish with yellow. I still gave 5 stars, because it's a reflection on my plating skills and not the product. I may try again with the yellow once I have a bit more experience under my belt.

Perfect Color
This color replicates the original finish on Rochester Quadrajets perfectly. The shade of yellow is right on. You can vary the darkness by increasing or decreasing your dunk time. The iridescence gives GM carburetors an authentic look.

super results
I hate rust and on my 74 Ranchero the factory did no plating on any metal parts under the dash ASM. So I needed to plate and chromate my car parts and came out looking great. If you get the zinc right the chromate will be right. Did carburetor as well and came out looking just like what they show. Very happy!

Worked great for that cadmium look
The yellow chromate worked graet on my zinc plated parts in giving them the cadmium look. Just dip in solution for about a minute, wash with water and you are done.
