4 Simple Steps To Brush Plate Your Small Parts
1. Plug In The Adapter | |
2. Clip the Black Lead To The Part
3. Soak The Wand With Bandage In the Solution
4. Brush The Wand Over The Cleaned Part |
Plug N' Plate® is a new concept in plating small parts. Our unique mains power pack supplies just the right amount of power allowing you to brush, and in some situations, dip plate your smaller components.
The Plug N' Plate® system will also allow you to patch repair areas where the original plating has worn away.
Plug N' Plate® is ideal for vintage vehicle restorers, antique collectors and dealers, and small workshops doing prototype work.
What could be simpler? The Plug N' Plate® wand is attached to the red plug on the Power Pack, and the alligator clip is attached to the work-piece. The end of the wand is covered in an absorbent bandage, which is soaked in the plating solution for a few seconds.
By simply stroking the part with swift brush strokes, the circuit is closed and the plating metal bearing solution goes to work, depositing its beautiful layer onto the object.
Plug N' Plate® is perfect for gold plating car emblems. Simply strip the chrome off with Chrome Stripper, then apply the gold. Full instructions are included.
Plug N' Plate® may be applied onto most metals. To see which kit plates onto which metal, read our instruction booklet. To plate onto Stainless Steel, use the Plug N' Plate® Copper system. When gold plating onto stainless, apply our Stainless Steel Activator For Gold with a stainless wand and 4.5V power pack, then you may gold plate directly onto the stainless part.
Aluminum can be plated with the Acid Copper Plug N Plate system, after prepping your part with Zincate.
Plastic parts can also be plated with our Acid Copper Plug N Plate system after painting with conductive paint and swabbed with Tinning Solution.

Cost effective with beautiful result
I bought this kit to plate a part that I manufactured out of solid brass for my turntable. The first time I plated the part the result was a bit mottled and uneven. I was able to remove the first plating layer, then sanded with 800 grit paper and then polish. Final cleaning was done with Simple Green to remove all polish residue and oils from handling. I wore nitrile rubber gloves while cleaning. When plating, I used the dip method and the second time around was the charm. Result looked as if it was professionally done and the brass is now protected from tarnishing with a nice thick nickel plate. Great product for what I needed and well worth the expense.

Works great, but brush plating requires patience. Dip plating quick an good!

No luck with rub-on but electroplating worked great
I had no luck with the rub on method but set things up for electroplating and had great success with that. It was fast and did a beautiful job.

A Terrific Product
I have never plated (or contemplated plating) anything prior to purchasing this product. I was modifying a Crosman 2240 CO2 pistol and thought that stripping and nickel plating the barrel and tube would look really nice. After reading the product description and doing a little research, I decided that it was worth a try. I did, and, WOW! Having done the recommended prep work on the parts (full stripping, polishing and cleaning) I used the Plug N' Plate system as directed with really wonderful results. For a modest investment the outcome was extremely rewarding! Now I need to look for other stuff to plate...

patience pays off
I wanted to nickle plate a cylinder from an old .38. I had great luck with the gold pnp so expected the results to be as easily identified as the gold. But I had polished the steel to a mirror finish, the nickle went on just as bright, just as clean. I did three passes over it and then polished with a soft cloth. It looks more like sterling than nickle!! great product!!

Excellent value
I used this kit to do a mini-tank plate of the bolt and safety from an old Winchester 67a boy's rifle, preferring nickel to the original chrome. And then I used the equipment plus a bottle of solution to gold plate the trigger of an ancient Smith & Wesson top-break revolver. The system works very well, although I prefer to use it as a miniature tank plate rather than actual brush plating. I did brush-plate a $1 US coin, though, just for fun. That worked out well, too. Very handy little kit to have if you deal a lot with small parts.
