- Instructions
Instructions:
If the object to be polished has heavy scratches, start by sanding. Start with 120 grit sandpaper, used dry. Switch to a 240 grit paper, dry. Finish with the 400 grit paper, used wet. Grits as fine as 600 may be used. Always use a wooden or rubber sanding block (not supplied). When removing scratches be sure to sand an area larger than the scratch. Sand with a circular motion, and use a light touch and plenty of water when using paper wet.
Polishing with the buffer will bring the surface a high lustre. Start with the Plastic Buffing Compound (Fine), and then switch to the Plastic-Glo Buffing Compound (Ultra-Fine). Be careful not to apply too much pressure, or excessive heat may cause burning of the part. Dedicate a buffing wheel for each compound, to avoid cross-contamination and introducing scratches into your final polish.
The buffing machine features large diameter, extended shafts, allowing easy access of larger parts. Heavy duty cast iron base and frame. Precision machined shaft and lubricated bearings for longer life. Single phase motor. May be mounted to a bench, or for greater access, to the optional stand.
- 8" 1HP Variable Speed Buffer 900-3600 RPM,
- 900-3600 RPM in 100RPM Intervals
- 115V/12 Amps or 240V/6 Amps
- 5/8" Diameter Shaft
- 3 Year warranty

Good product for the price
This is a good biffing kit for the price. Probably the best deal around. Wish you have options on what kinds of wheels to get so I do not waste to have wheels I will never use. I needed softer Domet wheels. I recommend it.

Great Price, Great Product
I ordered the 3/4 hp Wood and Acrylic buffing kit. As a Gunsmith I finish wood stocks of various exotic woods. Great people at Caswell to talk to and great people in problem solving. I have buffed several stock with ease. This is a great product and a great price. Finish work for the stocks are greatly reduced by the Buffer. I have seen this Buffer at Bishline Banjos and Rob at Bishline Banjos recommended this buffer. Glad I listened to him. The buffer does a fantastic job and now I am able to produce high quality stocks for my customers. Hats off to Caswell for offering a great package.

Great buffer for luthiers
Great buffing set up for a small shop. Plenty of power for buffing instruments, decent clearance and a great price. I have always used much larger industrial units and was concerned with the compact size; so far it is great. I have not done an acoustic guitar yet, but have done set neck electric guitars and am very impressed with how easy it is to work around the motor. Motor runs strong and steady unless you lean into it more than is likely needed. The motor is no louder than a typical belt driven unit and runs just as smooth. By far the best value I have been able to find. Just large enough to make for comfortable buffing and small enough to hang on the wall or from the ceiling when not in use. Even if you have room for a floor standing unit, this is a solid contender for a small shop. Rake and compounds are good as well.
