White Compound
Great compound. Coats buffing wheel easily and quickly, then polishes to a fine luster without removing metal. A must for gun refinishers.

The bee's knee's for aluminum
The white compound is as fine as I ever go on aluminum. Since it oxidizes so fast, I don't see a finer compound yielding long lasting results. In humid conditions, the humidity alone will damage aluminum buffed to the blue level unless it's sealed. I use the white as the final polish on anything aluminum, for that reason. It has a tendency to be invisible to you - until you start working a piece, where it'll build up in uneven surfaces or just from a general over abundance of compound. Be careful with it - this compound is white, and, well... you can't see it on your buffing wheel. But it IS there, and it doesn't take much - remember you're not trying to wax the piece, you just want it to brighten it up a little! I can't comment on how this looks on other metals, but on aluminum it gets as close to a mirror as possible. I don't think it would ever benefit from blue. Use on a spiral sewn, or loose cotton wheel - if you want, try a flannel wheel in a larger size if working with a large piece. Whenever I am working down this fine, I always rake the wheel each time I apply compound, to keep it clean. Its fine enough that aluminum pieces can build in the wheel, and will re-scratch what you're working on. Keep it clean, and you'll be fine.
