Product Description
Sisal is a slender, hard, cellular strand of fiber that has demonstrated its great strength and tough resiliency in the form of binder twine, cord & rope for many years. These qualities, along with its natural abrading and grease absorbing characteristics, provide an ideal buffing wheel fabric. Sisal buffing wheels will provide both polishing and cutting action. They will remove stretcher strains, orange peel, polishing wheel grit lines, light die marks, etc. To effect a fast cut, use a sisal wheel with the Black Emery compound.Safety Information

It gets into the tight areas
These wheels allow for more flexibility in tight areas that my 6" wheels can't reach. Affordable too!!

nice! really works well
I've never used a sisal wheel before, but reading the polishing guide here made me try one. I found while it IS more efficient than a spiral cotton, it's not overly aggressive; I used green compound with these to produce a satin-like finish on stainless and buff out mild scratches, and it was top-notch. Spins true, and fits well, like all the other wheels I've purchased here.

Use these lil' fellers on a drill!
These sisal wheels were a life saver for me. I would have spent hours more with sandpaper and a spiral sewn wheel trying to achieve the same results. 4" wheels work great on a corded drill. I used these with black compound (and greaseless compound) to remove light tooling marks from a set of wheels I had that I was polishing out. They were machined, so the marks had to go to achieve a nice mirror finish on the lips and faces. Without the sisal wheels, I would have probably spent another 1-2 hours on each wheel with sandpaper and a block. Give whatever you're polishing a good pass or two with black compound on a sisal. It'll make your end results better, smoother, shinier - and in far less time. Just be careful that you don't accidentally hit painted areas with this, as it will do a really good job of removing paint too! Small pieces of sisal flinging off is sort of normal - sisal is a medium-hard rope material that comes in semi-long strands, so at higher RPM's they can fling apart. On a drill you won't have any problems, - but I used it for the first time on a die grinder and was lucky I didn't take out my eye in the process. They are a lot better at lower RPM's!
