Shank undersized.
Product is well made. Good quality Buff. The shank is slightly undersized. Perhaps made out of the country. It measures 6mm OD. Not a problem if you are using it in a drill chuck. However on tools that use a collet. The collet might not hold the buff tight. That was my experience. I made a shim that allowed me to get the job done. However the shim is only good for one use as it is so thin it falls apart after the buff is removed from the collet. I'm looking into adapting a drill chuck to my die grinder for just such issues. Caswell may sell an adaptor I can use.

Shank Dia. not as advertised.
These 3" Shank Mounted Wheels do not have 1/4" Shanks. As measured they are 6mm O.D. 0.010" shy of .250". They are otherwise well made. If you plan to use these in a drill motor or have a drill chuck on your die grinder you will have no trouble using these. However if you use these in a collet made for 1/4" shanks you may find it difficult to tighten the collet enough to hold these. I'm able to use these with the aid of a beer can shim.
