Product Description
Domet flannel is very the softest available material, and this wheel is loosely stitched, so the layers of cloth flare out to give a wide angle ultra smooth polishing surface. Generally used with the BLUE or RED compound, this wheel can be used on the most delicate items such as silver and gold plate. This wheel should not be contaminated with any other compound.

Best finishing wheel
Absolutely the best final polishing wheel I have found!

For the final touches
Pretty much all of your previous work will likely be good. But this will really make your work shine - literally. Use this with blue or red compound (I use red with domet) to give the final polish to a piece. Red compound and these wheels, will give a finer polish than any of the liquid polishes available in my opinion. A little cornstarch on a soft (FRESH) microfiber will rid any more streaking left behind by previous buffing. There is a reason fine compounds exist - and it's not to be used with a hard material. Cotton wheels, in theory, will work - but flannel is much softer with a finer strand size, and it's more flexible. I'm not too sure aluminum will benefit much from this, but your gold and silver will love you. Logically, a finer polish means it is less likely to corrode. And using the red compound on a course wheel is counter-productive. Use the correct materials to do the job! 6" is too large for most drills, but the 4" will do just fine. Remember, you will not be doing any cutting of any kind with these wheels - they are designed to give a piece the final touches, with the finest of compounds. Follow up any gold or silver work with one of these and some red compound. Really makes bright metal pop.
