Product Description
Canton Flannel is very soft, and this wheel is loosely stitched, so the layers of cloth flare out to give a wide angle ultra smooth polishing surface. Generally used with the BLUE or RED compound, this wheel can be used on the most delicate items such as silver and gold plate. This wheel should not be contaminated with any other compound.

Perfect for that mirror shine on a new guitar!
Soft wheel to get that mirror shine on my hand-made guitars! One tip if you plan to buff lacquer - heat up the wheel by buffing against a scrap piece of hardwood before you apply compound. The fibers will accept it much more easily when warm and you'll use less pressure in buffing the lacquered surface!

Huge... for small gigs, anyways.
The material is great, and it does a great job. Just like any other canton flannel - but this thing is relatively huge, huge enough that 1HP @ 3450rpm, it would spin up and then vibrate all over the place trying to keep the outside as fast as the inside. It would buckle under load! So the way I fixed that, was with a couple of 8" spiral sewns on either side, for support. Made for a thicker-than-wanted setup, but works great. As long as I didn't use any pressure (not saying it would be required anyways). I'd stick with smaller wheels, personally. If I can get a 10" wheel, I will.

Nice Wheels
I had a hard time finding a 14-inch wheel for my 1/2-inch arbor. I bought four of them to stack and they are working great. I definitely had to use some larger washers for support, to keep them from flopping over when stopped. I am running them at 2200 RPM, using red rouge for some aluminum and they seem to work very well.
